Unclutter your life!

I’m a huge fan (and user) of David Allen’s Getting Things Done system, and hate clutter (I use the GTD Outlook Add-In religiously–it’s the main reason I still use Outlook, which I hate, instead of Gmail, which I love).

A new book is out, Unclutter Your Life in One Week, by Erin Doland, which looks fantastic (Allen wrote the foreword). She’s the wife of my friend and website designer (and libertarian), P.J. Doland–I will definitely buy this can’t wait to give it a try. Check it out…

BTW, one of my favorite expressions is how (if memory serves) Wendy McElroy used to sign off on her emails:

Thoreau: Simplify, simplify.

Me: Simplify.

You should consider using Mozilla Thunderbird to access your Gmail. TBird + IMAP = Sexy. A quick Google shows that some people seem to have implemented this GTD thing in TBird and, if it’s not too much trouble to set up, it may be the solution to your problems.

Also, TBird has great GnuPG integration if you find public key encryption useful. Outlook was always horrible at this.

    Neverfox,

You’re barking up the wrong tree with that encryption business. Only loser cranks encrypt their email. ;o)
